Friday
was a very exciting day at the house. They are nearly done with the texture on the drywall. When I left Friday late afternoon they only had the master bedroom and exercise room left to do. They had also begun the final coat of the stucco and had been installing interior and exterior doors as well as baseboards all day. I met with Bryce, the son of Alan Ray, the doors and trim guy, and we mapped out plans for all the closets and the pantries. I had been told that my front door would be delivered between noon and 1 pm, so we waited around for a while but it didn't show up. I finally got a call about 6:45 pm that the door was in and they needed to collect payment. Luckily we were fairly close by so we were able to get there and see it and pay them. The glass for the front door won't be installed until the end, and they also come back to put the finish color on the door. All the iron doors come black, and you can add as much color to make them look a little different or more rustic.
How it looks from the inside of the house...
All the rest of the doors on the truck and ready to be installed...
So will there be frosted glass behind the front door or clear? Dave and I are curious.
